Our Mission

Visions was created by parents of a child on the autism spectrum along with professionals wanting to make a difference in the lives of families in our community.  Our mission is to address the needs of the whole child, by focusing not only on their challenges behaviorally and academically, but also the child's social development, self regulation, communication skills and adaptive behavior.  We are dedicated to serving children on the autism spectrum and with other developmental differences regardless of age or functioning level. 

Our program combines a variety of methods such as pivotal response, verbal behavior, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).  Many people mistake ABA as being strictly discrete trial method or Lovaas method.  While discrete trial is ABA, all ABA is not discrete trial.  ABA can be executed in a very naturalistic and functional way.  Our program incorporates these naturalistic methods as well as social skills, sensory diets, generalized training, behavior modification, communication activities, and independent life and play skills. 

Visions Autism Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing families and individuals with autism and other developmental differences, quality educational and behavioral services with a focus on meaningful communication, incorporating resources and life skills that are necessary to become a valuable member of their community.
